Focused Logistics Installs Aloft in Historic Whitney BuildingFollow us on LinkedIn

DETROIT, MI – Focused Logistics is proud to announce the successful completion of the FF&E installation into the new Aloft Hotel located in the Historic (1915) David Whitney Building, in downtown Detroit, MI.

This project was challenging for many reasons, Focused Logistics Lead Project Manager Ted Oakes tells us. “Renovations in general require more project management expertise, but when you add working on a historic landmark property in a bustling downtown area, with virtually zero outside space, at the same time that new light-rail tracks are being installed in the street outside the hotel all in the dead of a Michigan winter; you have some real challenges.”

Selected by IntraMode Purchasing to provide warehousing, delivery and installation services to this milestone project, Intramode Project Manager Kristin Hatline said “Focused Logistics brought the experience we needed for this project. The Focused Logistics installation team included personnel who specialized in Aloft Hotel casegoods projects. Focused Logistics helped keep our schedule on-track and on time with a very difficult case goods installation.”

Phillip Sutphin, Director of Business Development for Focused Logistics tells HD Expo “The secret to success on any project is always communication. For example, on this project the manufacture, importer, intermodal carrier, warehousing and delivery personal, project managers, architect, interior designers, purchasing managers, general contractor, installation team, electrical sub-contractor, franchise representative, owners representative and of course even the owner at some point in the process were all connected to getting the headboard/entertainment casegoods system successfully purchased, delivered and installed on this project. Without clear and continuous communication there are so many opportunities for failure.” Kristin Hatline tells us “Focused Logistics experience and communication style helped make this one of our most successful projects. I look forward to working with them again soon!”
