SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Focused Logistics is proud to announce the successful completion of the FF&E installation into the newly renovated 358 room Le Meridien San Francisco Hotel located in the heart of San Francisco’s financial district.

Director of Business Development Phillip Sutphin tells HD News “this is another marquis property that was awarded to Focused Logistics because of our reputation for being able to handle logistically complex projects in challenging locations.”

“This project was challenging for several reasons” Focused Logistics Lead Project Manager Ted Oakes tells us “Working on a project in San Francisco can become very expensive to the client for warehousing, labor, and even housing. We were able leverage our parent company’s, Stevens Worldwide Van Lines, nationwide connections to secure warehousing just outside of city where rates were significantly less while not sacrificing the required demanding service.

Specialized delivery equipment was also needed to accommodate the low-clearance, underground receiving dock. Focused Logistics utilized low-clearance (but smaller) 16’ trucks for all deliveries, making for a more challenging delivery schedule but keeping all construction activities out of the hotel guests view, making for a very happy client!

Our in-house travel department was also able to secure national account pricing for local housing, keeping our crews within minutes of the project, allowing them to work the necessary hours to keep the project on schedule when needed, without a difficult commute.”

Project Manager of the general contractor, NRC, Steve Johnson says “Focused Logistics was not only chosen for their reliability, but also because they could provide more than just installation. They also easily handled the liquidation of the property’s existing furnishings, which for us is no small matter, especially in California. We were so happy with Focused Logistics we can’t wait to work with them again”.
